User Reviews about Rockport Women's Leiden Boot
This is the fourth or fifth pair of riding boots I've ordered, and the first pair that finally fits my legs properly! No more slouching or bunching leather around the ankles! Thanks to the full lace-up style, this boot hugs my ankles and calves, giving me that classic snug look I've been searching for. My calves are very slender, and with the laces tightened up all the way, there is just enough room to tuck in a pair of jeans. Perfect!
The leather isn't the kind of quality you'd find on a top-of-the-line boot, but I think it's excellent for the price- much nicer than what I've been seeing in other boots within this price range. And I like the lining; it makes the boots feel so much sturdier than others I've tried. The shaft doesn't flop over- it stands alone solidly.
Let's talk about sizing. This is so tricky when buying boots online. I wear a 9.5 in pumps/heels. After reading some reviews that say the Rockport runs small, I ordered a 9.5 (even though other designers' 8.5 has fit me). The 9.5 could work, but I'm considering sending them back and wearing a size 9. There is a bit too much empty space beyond my toes, and I tried the boots on wearing semi-thick socks. So my advice: order a half size smaller than what you comfortably wear in pumps. I think the width is true to size.
One more thing: don't be intimidated by the full lace-up style. These look very slender and attractive on the leg- not at all like a combat boot or a clunky pair of Docs. -- AT LAST! A boot for slender calves and ankles!
